To develop strategic procurement, the TRA uses supplier management solutions from JAGGAER

05/11/2018

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with JAGGAER/Tejari, the world’s largest independent spend management company, which will strengthen TRA’s business operations through its leading supplier management solutions. The cooperation was based on TRA's desire to support its strategic efforts through the adoption of a comprehensive, fully automated supplier management system that ensures coordination and cooperation with suppliers to achieve sustainable value.

TRA’s choice to partner with Tejari/JAGGAER is due to the latter’s operational capacity, flexible and scalable applications that allow integration with Oracle ERP and eDirham currently used by the company for the annual registration of suppliers. Such partnership will allow the TRA to tap into the company's extensive network of suppliers, bringing together about 2,500,000 suppliers and linking sellers and buyers in various industries around the world.

By using JAGGAER/Tejari’s supplier management solutions, the TRA will be able to reach more than 5,000 suppliers within its own supply categories locally and globally, as well as track the fully automated supplier management lifecycle, including classification, qualification and performance evaluation of suppliers.

Commenting on the partnership, H.E. Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General of the Support Services Sector in TRA, said: "The TRA continuously promotes the smart work method and adopts digital technology in all tasks. Through this agreement, we aim to implement the smart supplier management system to automate and improve procurement and contracting, and enable immediate access to data leading to reduced administrative effort, faster decision-making, reduced cost and increased competitiveness among suppliers to offer the best proposals. On the occasion of our partnership with JAGGAER/Tejari, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all employees for their active contribution to the development of the supplier management system of the TDRA.“

For his part, Abdullah Ali Al Janahi, Chairman of Tejari, said: “This agreement reflects the TRA's keenness on continuous development and its readiness to adopt the latest technological developments, and we are pleased to participate with the TRA and support the digital transformation of its procurement section, where strategic procurement has become a major driving force for competition globally. Such agreement would allow future-looking entities (such as the TRA) to enhance procurement performance and reduce cost using the latest innovative internet-based technologies."
