Participation reflects interest of youth in exiting ICT opportunities
TheICT Fund, an initiative by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), is showcasing its Betha (Arabic for Scholarship) programs for students seeking bachelor or master degrees across a range of ICT related subjects at this week’s Tawdheef recruitment exhibition.
Tawdheef provides a key opportunity for qualified Emiratis and other experienced professionals to meet companies from a variety of industry sectors including government, banking, oil & gas, aviation and many others.
The Betha program supports students across a range of B.Sc. and M.Sc. subjects including computer engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. To date, The ICT Fund has invested more than AED 300 million in the Betha scholarship program. Betha has enabled 230 Emirati students (bachelors and masters) to study in the UAE, USA, UK, Australia and Japan. The ICT Fund has placed 100 students through the Scholarship Coordination Office (SCO) in international universities in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Australia.
The Betha program team will be at the Tawdeef fair as part of the TRA stand (5C20) to present and discuss the program.
