Public Consultation - Study on Deployment of Private 5G Networks in the UAE
In accordance with its vision "An innovative digital system to enhance the quality of life and the competitiveness of the country", TDRA continues to align its spectrum management activities with the market needs and future trends on a pro-active basis. TDRA-UAE The TDRA wishes to consult on its ongoing study about potential deployment of private 5G networks in the UAE.
This consultation is initiated in order to keep abreast of developments to better involve its partners and stakeholders.
This consultation document aims to gather comprehensive insights and feedback from key stakeholders. The primary objective is to ensure that the deployment strategy is well-informed and addresses various aspects of implementing private 5G networks. By engaging stakeholders from diverse sectors, including mobile operators, verticals, government, and academia, the study seeks to determine the feasibility and advisability of such deployments.
The comments which are contained in any response to this consultation should be clearly identified with respect to the specific question in this consultation to which such comments refer. Any comments which are of a general nature and not in response to a particular question should be clearly identified as such.
If any Person or entity seeks to clarify or discuss any part of this consultation can request for a meeting in writing again to the E-mail (spectrumconsultation@tdra.gov.ae) and then TDRA will set the meetings in the period from 16 to 18 July 2024 so that formal comments can still be received by 15.00pm on Wednesday 31 July 2024.

Outcome
Based on the survey
results, several key actions have been taken to enhance 5G networks and improve
overall connectivity. These actions include expanding network coverage to reach
more areas, upgrading infrastructure to support higher speeds and lower
latency, and optimizing spectrum allocation to maximize efficiency.
Additionally, collaboration with telecom operators has been strengthened to
ensure seamless deployment and integration of new technologies. Efforts have
also been directed towards enhancing security measures and adopting innovative
solutions to address connectivity challenges.
Moreover, regulatory
frameworks have been updated to facilitate faster and more efficient 5G
expansion, ensuring compliance with global best practices. Investments in
research and development have been prioritized to drive continuous innovation
and meet future demands. Public awareness campaigns and industry partnerships
have also been launched to promote the benefits of 5G and encourage its
widespread adoption. These combined efforts aim to solidify the country's
position as a global leader in digital connectivity and smart infrastructure.
