Overview:

In line with its efforts to enhance the security and safety of the telecommunications sector in the UAE, TDRA launched the "Mobile Subscriber Registration Requirements" initiative. It aims to ensure the accuracy and currency of subscriber information, contributing to user rights protection and limiting misuse of telecom services. All licensed telecom providers are required to register subscriber data accurately and with proper documentation, such as the Emirates ID.

Objectives:

- Protect subscribers’ rights and privacy.

- Regulate the mobile subscriber registration process.

- Raise awareness on keeping SIMs under personal responsibility.

- Reduce telecom-related fraud and scams.

- Prevent identity fraud and false registrations.

Registration Requirements For Mobile Consumers:

- Use of Emirates ID as the official identity document.

- Subscribers must update their data in case of any changes.

- Prohibit issuing or transferring SIMs without full identity verification.
