Registering and approving telecommunications devices before they are put up for sale in the country's markets by providing the required information and documents in the type approval system.
Requirements vary depending on the severity of the device to be approved, where device types are identified for each severity level and divided into three levels as follows:
- Level 1: Lowest risk and does not require technical inspection
- Level 2: Medium risk and sometimes requires technical inspection as requested by TDRA
- Level 3 is the highest risk and requires technical inspection of devices
