Register and Approve Telecommunication Equipment
Service Description
Registering and approving telecommunications devices before they are put up for sale in the country's markets by providing the required information and documents in the type approval system.
Requirements vary depending on the severity of the device to be approved, where device types are identified for each severity level and divided into three levels as follows:
- Level 1: Lowest risk and does not require technical inspection
- Level 2: Medium risk and sometimes requires technical inspection as requested by TDRA
- Level 3: Highest risk and requires technical inspection of devices

Service Limitation
This service is for companies and factories registered as suppliers of telecom devices only Customers can opt to have their devices inspected by TDRA for a fee specified under "Service Fees"

Required Documents
- Official technical data sheet for all levels
- Test report for radio, electromagnetic field and safety standards issued by an accredited laboratory (International Laboratory Accreditation Corporation - ILAC Levels II and III)
- Certificate of international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) for smart network-enabled devices
- Provision of device samples
- One sample of the following types of devices:
- Wireless LANs (WLANs) or Wi-Fi
- Analogue Private Mobile Radio (PMR) Equipment
- Maritime services radio
- Amateur Radio
- TETRA
- Two sample of the following types of devices:
- Mobile phone
- Drone
