The Wireless Networks and Services Section is responsible for testing and measuring the quality of mobile networks in accordance with approved technical standards and procedures, through the Coverage Center. This ensures the availability of accurate and reliable data on network performance and the quality of services provided. The Section conducts field benchmarking across various regions of the UAE, regularly monitors measurement results, analyzes relevant technical indicators, identifies observations related to coverage levels or network performance, and prepares reports in line with approved frameworks. These activities support continuous technical monitoring and assessment of service quality. In addition, the Section manages and regulates the issuance of recommendations for the construction of mobile coverage towers on public lands, in coordination with relevant authorities and in accordance with approved regulatory frameworks. This includes reviewing applications, verifying compliance with established requirements, and organizing the issuance process within delegated authorities, ensuring adherence to regulatory controls and approved procedures for station deployment. It also manages a range of regulatory tools related to telecommunications services and networks, oversees their implementation, and ensures that relevant entities comply with associated regulatory and technical requirements. Furthermore, it regulates and registers Internet of Things (IoT) services in accordance with approved procedures, and monitors compliance with applicable regulatory requirements to ensure the orderly provision of such services. The Section additionally works on establishing an integrated framework for analyzing telecommunications network data by collecting relevant datasets, conducting analysis, and utilizing insights within its mandate to support technical monitoring and enhance service quality.
