Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the exhibition will last until 17 March and will witness a remarkable participation of many government entities and firms from all over the world.

In addition, the TRA will showcase the “Drones detecting Open WiFi” Project which will highlight through flying drones over smart cities and detecting open WiFi access points how common it is to have unsecure access points that are not protected with passwords.

Speaking on the TRA’s participation, HE Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, TRA Director General said: "We recognize the importance of these events which reinforce our preparedness for the developments of the next phase. The UAE is taking steady steps towards heading into the era of smart cities, huge data and Internet of things, with all the challenges and opportunities it will encompass in all areas and particularly security.”

“We are keen on participating actively in this significant event as we believe in the importance of having pre-emptive and proactive procedures and plans put in place in order to deal with disasters and crises. Given the remarkable progress achieved by the UAE in the field of smart cities and the level of mobile services provided to individuals, protecting data centers and ICT sector basic infrastructure is vital,” he added.

"Our participation represents a testament on the significance of this exhibition in defining key technologies and solutions adopted in the area of information security and emergency response. The aeCERT team will showcase a range of solutions and strategies that were developed to assist both government entities and business sector. The Internal Assessment Platform (IAP) is a very unique and first of its kind security appliance specifically developed by TRA’s aeCERT for providing Vulnerability Assessment and Incident Response services to its high profile government constituents,” His Excellency continued.

The TRA gives great importance to this conference and this is reflected by the impressive participation of the TRA team in the discussions and various sessions focusing on e-security topics and ways to provide instant response in emergency situations, including electronic attacks. During the event, the TRA will give a presentation on Cyber Blackmail Initiative, one of the awareness campaigns launched by aeCERT in cooperation with “Al AMEEN” service on best ways to use social media platforms and protect Information privacy.
