ICT Fund has granted, through BETHA program, 1876 since the launch of the program in 2010. The scholarships focused on developing national human cadres in ICT-related disciplines such as Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Science, Smart Cities, Cybersecurity and others.
ICT Fund has invested heavily in BETHA to allocate hundreds of seats for bachelor's and master's degrees in the most prestigious UAE universities, and international universities in the United States, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, and other leading countries in the sector. The program aspires to attract more outstanding students for the next few years. BETHA is part of ICT Fund's strategy to scale up national human cadres specializing in ICT, including Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Informational Technology, and many other disciplines.
ICT Fund received a funding request for the project "Creating Innovation for the Development of iOS Applications” at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai," which is part of the UAE universities' approach to developing innovation curricula and programs. The center will be equipped with technical staff and infrastructure including computers and smart tablets, as well as servers and smart boards, and will include educational programs related to mobile applications studies.
The Center will improve the information and skills of HCT students in the development of applications for smartphones and programming, which will make Emirati young people one of the most important entrepreneurs in the field of application development in the UAE and around it. HCT will cooperate with various educational institutions and universities to allow national students from these institutions to use this center and provide facilities for higher education and research.
ICT Fund and Sheraa, in partnership with Sharjah Youth Council, offered a unique opportunity for more than 500 contestants, 100 of whom succeeded in reaching the final competition in three-day hackathon.
the first prize went to “Targo” which is an Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence-supported website that allows small businesses to obtain, purchase, and clear international cargo space while choosing the most optimum route.
TDRA represented by ICT Fund, signed an MoU with Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and Qureos on training students of ICT Fund’s BETHA Programme through Qureos platform and Jafza’s Tumoohi Programme 2020.
The agreement provides for selecting students from the ICT Fund’s BETHA Programme to join Jafza’s Tumoohi Programme, with the aim of achieving TDRA’s vision in qualifying and increasing the percentage of Emiratisation in the ICT sector. The student selection process will take place through Qureos platform, which will allow students to participate in solving virtual challenges that simulate the professional reality, in order to measure the capabilities required in completing the challenges identified by Jafza. Additionally, qualified candidates will be interviewed for actual projects assigned by Tumoohi, which will last for 4 months.
Adding a new specialization “Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity Engineering” at the University of Sharjah and include it in BETHA program.
